Missing you

 woke up this morning

beside a pillow lying cold

bedding undisturbed

no more chance to watch you grow old

no gentle slumber at my side

watching the sun rise across your face

I turned and cried and wished it all away

if only I could take your place

two toothbrushes side by side

strands of hair on the basin sink

your scent still lingering

don't know what to think

dragged myself up and found some coffee

two mugs, but only one was filled

oh god I miss you so

with you my life was so fulfilled

woke up this morning to a new day

woke up this morning and wished you could stay

walking on alone just seems so wrong

my love for you will always stay this strong

Dressed for work and touched your clothes

it made it all seem so real

your memory lingers here

I don't know what to feel

got to the car

yours parked next to mine

The tears just flowed and i stood there

oh why can't i turn back time

Why'd you have to go

why'd you have to leave

where are you now and do you know

how I love you so

No final words goodbye

no last warm embrace

no chance to say the words

or see the smile upon your face

life seems so cruel

to take you away

but I’ll remember the love we had

waking up every day

woke up this morning to a new day

woke up this morning and wished you could stay

walking on alone just seems so wrong

my love for you will always stay this strong
